Magazine publisher Tim Porter pushes out the boat from Wanaka | Stuff.co.nz

Magazine publisher Tim Porter pushes out the boat from Wanaka | Stuff.co.nz: "My first boat was a 10ft Pakercraft [aluminium dinghy] with a 9.8 Mercury called Fizz. That was at Taupo. I don't know what happened to it. I was about nine or 10 years old and my Mum bought it for me."

"My current boat is the Boating NZ Haines Hunter 660. My dream boat is the Cigarette 42x. I like going fast on water."

"Down here, it is almost time to put away the boat but then, if you get dressed up warmly you can get a beautiful day out there and have the lake to yourself. Boating New Zealand is 12 months, year round, and there will probably be a few tests done on Lake Wanaka as well," Porter said.

Porter is an unashamed champion of print but acknowledges the need to be on top of digital innovations, so Boating New Zealand is supported by a digital magazine and a website.
